Upcoming Children's Ministry Events:

Children and Youth Sunday School classes meet each week at 9 a.m. (September - May).

Children ages 3 through 2nd Grade will be given the opportunity, post children's sermon, to go to the education wing for snack, prayer, and play during the remainder of worship. Volunteers will be waiting at the sanctuary doors to take kids to the room. A pre-planned activity will be provided for volunteers and outside play is always an option. Pre-packaged snacks will be located in the small kitchen in between the nursery and preschool room.

Young Singers meet each week at 11:45 a.m. (September - May)! We meet after the morning worship service in the Choir Room with lunch first in the Cafe.

“'Allow the children to come to me,' Jesus said. 'Don’t forbid them, because the kingdom of heaven belongs to people like these children.'” Matthew 19:14, NSRV

Second welcomes children as a vital to this community of believers. Children are spiritual beings who encounter God in their own unique ways and who actively participate in the worship, learning, and service of this community.

Sunday Worship

The children’s bookshelf outside the narthex provides children’s books and bibles, crayons and coloring pages. Children ages 3-8 are invited to depart for Children’s Worship after the Time for Children portion of the service during service. In order to keep the children entrusted to us safe, we ask parents to keep an up-to-date registration form on file with us.

Our preschool class for children 3-5 years old meets on the first floor of the Christian Education wing. We use the Feasting on the Word curriculum.

Our 1st - 6th grade Sunday School meets in the Peaceable Kingdom.

Nursery Care

For our littlest ones (infants - 2 years old), paid nursery staff provide childcare from 8:45am – 11:30am. They assure that the children’s first church experience is a warm, loving one. The nursery is equipped with an adjoining crib room, and a rocking chair for nursing mothers. Pagers are available to ensure your peace of mind during worship and/or Sunday School.

Young Singers

The congregation is the primary choir of the church. All people are given a voice and deserve the opportunity to learn to use it well. Childhood is the best time to begin this process! At 2PC, children and youth gain musical skills through reading music, ear training, and by singing well in unison and in harmony. Through carefully chosen texts, both scriptural and poetic, they learn the basic tenets of the Christian faith. Young Singers (boys and girls, grades 1-6) meets on Sundays at 11:45 a.m., sings in worship several times each year, and plays a major musical role in the annual Christmas pageant.
